Our 5 hour IV insertion practic session will review anatomy of the hand and arm relevant to IV insertion.  We will familiarize students with the equipment needed for peripheral IV insertion.  We will review the steps a clinician should take before inserting an IV.  We will discuss choosing a vein and selecting a catheter.  We will practice venipuncture techniques, securing your catheter, and learn successful strategies for clients that are a "difficult stick".   In our practice session its purly hands on, we "practice until professional".  We do not do drug calculations, we will provide places to go on the WEB to review current JCHAO recommendations.
