A recent poll of new graduate nurses revealed nurses felt they lacked "confidence and adequate skills" in up to a year after graduation because of lack of hands on training in nursing schools, so the turnover rate for new nurses after the first year is 30%. According to the department of labor statistics the job outlook for 2019-2029 from all occupations is 4%. but for nurses, the job outlook is higher than average at 7%. Hospitals are now seeking ways to transition inexperienced nurses to job readiness.
